Kenneth D. “Kenny” Ussery, 85, of Marshall, died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.
Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Big Bend Retreat. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.
Born Aug. 16, 1931, in Cross Timbers, Kenny was the son of the late Sylvester Ussery and Frances Teague Ussery. On May 27, 1961, he married Jody Laxson, who preceded him in death on Feb. 15, 2015. He lived in Marshall most of his life where he retired from Marshall Skelgas and after retirement worked for Bryan’s Propane. He was a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors include three children, Jim Ussery of Marshall, Tracy Todd of Marshall, and Dina Chaney Goodin and husband Mike of rural Slater; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Jack Ussery and wife Barb of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Kenny was preceded in death by a sister in infancy; and one brother, Gene Ussery.
