Motorists traveling eastbound on Interstate 70 should expect some delays today, Aug. 18, as guardrail and cable work is conducted. The work is taking place between Route YY and U.S. Highway 65 and a portion of the area has been reduced to one lane. At 11 a.m., motorists could travel through the area easily. According to the Missouri Department of Transportation's Traveler Information Map, work is expected to be completed by 4 p.m.
In addition to the I-70 work zone, a chip seal overlay was also scheduled for Aug. 18 on Route D, in the eastern portion of Saline County between Routes 41 and 240. The overlay will affect traffic in both directions and is expected to be completed by 4:30 p.m. (Sarah Reed/Democrat-News)
