End Rows for Oct. 22, 2013
The government shutdown has slightly delayed payments normally issued in early October.
We anticipate Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) annual rental payments being issued late this week or early next week. Those with direct deposit should see the payments in their bank accounts by around Oct. 31.
After CRP payments have been disbursed, 2013 direct and counter-cyclical payments will be processed next.
Acre payment expected for corn
It is anticipated that Missouri may meet the state trigger for 2012 corn.
If ACRE participants also meet the farm level trigger for 2012 corn, an ACRE payment may be earned.
We anticipate additional information in the near future.
Report 2013 hay and pasture
For the past couple years, FSA has updated crop reporting deadlines to align with Federal crop insurance reporting dates.
During this transition, late-filing fees have been waived.
2014 hay and pasture must be reported by Nov. 15, 2013
-- A late filing fee will apply if not reported by this date.
While we do not know what rules a new farm bill might have, previous farm bills have required that all cropland be reported for program eligibility.
We want to make sure people are aware that crop reporting for 2014 hay and pasture is due Nov. 15.
Also, 2014 crop fall-seeded small grains, including wheat, must be reported by Dec. 15, 2013.
USDA Service Center moving during remodel
The USDA Service Center will be remodeled beginning next month.
During the remodel, all agencies and staff will be temporarily located in the building at the east side of our parking lot.
-- This building was previously occupied by MoDOT.
Next week, the week of Oct. 28, we will be moving to the temporary space.
We plan to be fully operational in the temporary space by Nov. 1.
But during the week of Oct. 28, our ability to provide service to customers will be hindered while files and computer systems are being relocated
We appreciate everyone's patience during this process.
