Billy Joe Loggins, 72, of Marshall, died Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Mar-Saline Manor in Marshall.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2013, at Olivet Free Will Baptist Church in Marshall, with the Rev. Jerry Scott officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial with military rites will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Born Oct. 15, 1940, in Marked Tree, Ark., he was the son of the late Lawrence William Loggins and Ethel Dale Loggins, who survives of Marshall. He had served in the U.S. Air Force for four years and had lived in Marshall most of his life. On Feb. 21, 1979, he married Janet Marie Cloughly, who survives of the home. He worked at Gilpin's Auto Parts and attended Olivet Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, survivors include six children, William Douglas Loggins of Marshall, Vickie Darlene Johnson of Lawrence, Kan., Doris Elizabeth Glidwell of Mayview, Michael Dwayne Loggins of Marshall, Billy Joe Loggins Jr. of Marshall and Donnie Ray Loggins of Marshall; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Loggins of Malta Bend and Donald Loggins of the state of Tennessee; one sister, Mary Curry of Chula; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Martha Jane Sample.
