Vikings win two of three matches

The eighth-ranked Missouri Valley College men's volleyball team won two matches against one foe last week before dropping a MAMVIK West contest.

Junior Jacob Haar knocked in eight shots and junior Jacob Pederson had six kills and four aces during the Vikings' 25-10, 25-11, 25-17 non-conference win at Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.) on Thursday, Feb. 28.

Valley easily won its home rematch with the Lynx (0-2) on Saturday, 25-7, 25-14, 25-13, as Haar again had eight spikes and junior Peterson Silva added seven.

The Vikings lost Tuesday at No. 2 Missouri Baptist, 25-23, 26-24, 22-25, 25-22. Senior Gustavo Cintron had a match-high 22 kills to lead the Spartans (12-2, 5-1 MAMVIC).

Valley (10-5, 3-4) got 19 spikes from Silva and 11 from Haar.

The Vikings are at home Saturday for a doubleheader against St. Xavier (Ill.) from the MAMVIC East.
