More than 100 visitors tour county water gardens
Approximately 125 people toured area gardens this past Sunday for the 13th annual Show-Me Water Garden Tour.
The tour included 14 water gardens in both Marshall and Slater. Guests picked up ideas for their own gardens, learned about specific plants and met new neighbors along the way.
The event, sponsored by Friends of Jim the Wonder Dog, typically draws 300-400 visitors. Organizers felt the increasing humidity and heat contributed to the decline. They were happy with the turnout, however, as proceeds will aid the organization in updating the VanDyke building -- a structure they will convert into a Marshall welcome center and Wonder Dog museum.
