Police arrest 2 in liquor store robbery, 1 charged

Marshall police yesterday arrested a 39-year-old Marshall man in connection with the Sunday, Sept. 30, robbery at Patrick's Liquor Store in Marshall.

Police were given information on Monday, Oct. 1, that the man matching the description given in the robbery Sunday and in a recent robbery at Viking Package Liquors in Marshall might be in a residence at 367 W. North St.

Police approached the residence with officers from the Saline County Sheriff's Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

A subject fled on foot from the driveway of the residence, but was apprehended at approximately 11 p.m. near the intersection of Ellsworth Ave. and Marion St.

The man is being held at the Marshall City Jail pending review of the case by the Saline County Prosecutor.

Sherron Poindexter, 30, also of Marshall, was arrested earlier as a result of the initial investigation and has been charged with class B felony second-degree robbery.

Poindexter posted $15,000 bond, according to on-line court records. Arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 10.
