Stan Brockman, 72, of Emma, formerly of Concordia, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Concordia. Rev. Lee Hagan and Rev. Andrew Kennell will officiate. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at the church. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, also at the church. Pallbearers will be Vernon Grefe, Wilmer Ziegelbein, Bob Krause, Joe McKnight, Homer Nierman and Curt Schuette. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Highley and Burt Robbins. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or Concordia Senior Center in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia.
Born Nov. 29, 1931, in Concordia, he was the son of the late Roy Brockman and Juanita Walhausen Brockman. On Dec. 11, 1954, he married Beverly Alewel, who survives of the home. He had lived in the Concordia area his entire life and was a graduate of Concordia High School. He had retired as a real estate agent with Gaslight Realty after 28 years of service and had worked at True Value hardware the last six years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5649 in Concordia, the Concordia Senior Center board and American Legion Post No. 258 in Concordia. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Vicki Hartwig of Nixa; two sons, Kim Brockman and Cody Brockman, both of Concordia; one sister, Alleen Pinkepank of Concordia; four granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
