Malta Bend woman suffers minor injuries in 1 vehicle crash

At approximately 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, a 2002 Nissan driven by Stephanie D. Jansen, 26, of Malta Bend, was traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 65 about .8 miles north of Holiday Avenue when she struck a deer. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, after striking the deer she ran off the right side of the roadway, struck a culvert and a road hazard sign, and then came to rest. She was wearing a safety device according to the report...

Salt Fork YMCA received $350,000 in 70 percent Neighborhood Assistance Program tax credits from the Office of Economic Development, which is equivalent to $500,000 in donations, according to Salt Fork YMCA CEO Suzanne Smith. Commission approves Wilson as county's representative for MSDC

Saline County Commissioners approved Chris Wilson as the new county representative on the Mar-Saline Development Corporation board at the Thursday, Dec. 5, meeting. Holiday Project sees surge in donations over the last week (Local News ~ 12/05/13)
Saline County Inter-Agency Council's Holiday Project took place Thursday, Dec. 5, at Martin Community Center and the project saw a good sum of donations come in over the last week.
