Marshall Marching Band wins second at Carrollton Band Day (Local News ~ 10/09/13)
The 52nd annual Carrollton Band Day was held Saturday, Sept. 28. After a rain delay, Marshall High School competed in the Class 4A parade division and was awarded second place. This is the highest MHS has placed in the competition in over a decade. Other bands in their division included Oak Grove, Smithville,Center, Chillicothe, Boonville, Savannah, Warrensburg, Fulton and Clinton. County road closure dates announced

Northern Commissioner Charlie Gutherie reported to the Saline County Commission there will be date changes to two road closings at the meeting Wednesday, Oct. 9. According to a phone call received from Road and Bridge Supervisor Justin Cowart, Mount Olive Road will be closed for part of the day Thursday, Oct. 10, and 397th Trail will be closed on Friday, Oct. 11. They changed the dates because DigRite still has to locate the utilities...
