Newscope: SCCC plant sale slated for May 1-3

Saline County Career Center is holding its annual greenhouse plant sale from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, and from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, and Thursday, May 3. There will be annual bedding plants, ornamental grasses and vegetables, as well as old favorites such as geraniums from plugs, impatients, petunias, vincas, zinnias, salvia, snapdragons, ornamental sweet potato vines, ivies, begonias, tomatoes, green and flowering baskets and much more...

Army Corps of Engineers officials gave area residents a chance Tuesday, April 17, to see plans for constructing an additional chute on Jameson Island Unit as part of the Missouri River shallow water habitat restoration efforts. The public meeting at the Arrow Rock State Historic Site Visitors' Center attracted a larger-than-expected crowd of about 50 people. -
