Disagreement over information distribution marks Sweet Springs school board meeting

Voices rose on a couple of matters at the Sweet Springs Board of Education meeting Thursday, March 13. Board member Cindi Sims asked the board to discuss distribution of board packets for closed session material. Sims apparently asked for materials prior to the Thursday meeting to prepare herself for the decision to be made that night and was denied until further investigation on if there was a policy or motion made by a board in the past on distribution of this material and also to get all board members input.. ...

MSDC ends 'drought' of new business prospects

The recent drought is certainly over and the weather Monday, March 17, put an exclamation point on that sentence. The drought in economic development projects may be over for the Marshall-Saline Development Corporation, too. Until the weather took a turn from bad to worse this week, Brown Construction crews made more headway recently in the demolition of buildings a block off the Marshall square. On Saturday, March 15, workers took a chunk out of the former Marshall Lumber Yard, the final and biggest building in the project.
