Words can be powerful weapons

"Be careful little mouths what you say." Words come so easy sometimes. They flow from our mouths and we oft-times wish we could grab them back before they grace someone's ears. The problem is that many people don't think before they speak. They don't "engage brain before opening mouth." They just dump it out there and let the chips fall where they may. They don't care who it hurts or what the outcome, as long as they are able to speak their mind...

Frosh split with Fulton (High School Sports ~ 07/07/05)
The Marshall USSSA Freshmen had just enough offense to take Tuesday's doubleheader against Fulton but that attack sputtered in the second game of the evening. The visitors got on the scoreboard first in the opening game, scoring twice with two outs in the top of the second inning... -

Minnie A. Bange, 102, of Marshall, died Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at Mar-Saline Manor in Marshall. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 8, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Chapel in Marshall. Sheriff's dept. making record keeping changes

Wednesday morning, the Saline County Commission announced that effective July 10, the county sheriff's department will make some mandatory internal changes for all staff members that have been suggested by an outside auditing agency. All staff members will be required to sign in and out on the daily sign-in sheet, which, in turn, will be submitted on a daily basis to the Saline County auditor and the county commission with a daily inmate sheet for a "counter balance check" to the time sheets that are turned in each day.. ...

Bids to be opened for skate park July 15

The ongoing saga of the Indian Foothills Park skate park is a step closer to conclusion. Jeff Stubblefield, Marshall director of parks and recreation, told Park Board members Wednesday evening that bids for the construction of the skate park will close July 15 and a builder will be chosen shortly thereafter to erect a 4,000 square-foot retaining wall on the west side of the skate park and complete the concrete pouring for the park's features...
