Marshall schools out Friday

County buys truck for road and bridge dept.

While in Jefferson City for an ethics meeting Wednesday, the Saline County commissioners stopped at the Missouri Highway Patrol headquarters and bought a pickup truck, they said Thursday. The truck, a 2000 model which cost $9,250, will join six others for the county road and bridge department. The commissioners said Maurice Moore, county road and bridge supervisor, needed another truck to carry a portable fuel storage tank to fuel the department's road graders...

Fatal crash under investigation

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash which occurred in Saline County in the early morning hours Wednesday.
