Residents honor 9-1-1 first responders one step at a time
Individuals and first responders worked their way up the Missouri Valley College football stadium stairs Saturday, Sept. 8, during the Marshall Lions Club First Responders Stair Climb. Participants climbed the equivalent of the stairs climbed by first responders following the attacks on the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. The stair climb was not a timed event, but a way for participants to pay tribute to the brave men and women who paid the ultimate price on that day. Participants included individuals, Marshall Fire Department firefighters, emergency medical services personnel and law enforcement officials.
