Prodigals & Pilgrims
Everyone’s a prodigal, a rebel and bound to roam.
Trying hard to find a friend, a long, long way from home.
Everyone’s a pilgrim, a seeker and bound to roam.
Searching hard to find the truth, looking for a home.
A prodigal longs for pleasure, fortune, fame and wealth.
Ignoring all he walks past, thinking only of himself.
A pilgrim takes the high road, lifting others as he goes.
While seeking for the answers, that only heaven knows.
Pilgrims can be prodigals, when they feel they search in vain.
The truth somehow evades them, and they feel the lonely pain.
Prodigals are pilgrims, when they grow too weary to roam.
And turn onto the high road, that will finally lead them home.
Everyone’s a prodigal, a rebel and bound to roam.
And everyone’s a pilgrim, still searching for a home.
