Lunch prices raised for Sweet Springs 2009-2010 school year (06/10/09)
Cafeteria prices were raised at the Sweet Springs Board of Education meeting Wednesday evening, June 10. Although Superintendent Boyd Jones said he "never expected" the school's meal program to be a "break-even kind of thing," he recommended the board make certain adjustments to help in some way with the program currently operating at about $60,000 over budget. Much of this, he said, is due to increased food costs.

Blind Pony Lake to reopen soon (02/12/09)
SWEET SPRINGS (MDC) -- After being closed five years for renovation, Blind Pony Lake will reopen to the public at 4 a.m., Sunday, March 1. When it reopens, the lake will be deeper because 450,000 cubic yards of sediment was removed as part of the renovation. In addition, a new fishing jetty was build at the north end of the lake and huge brush piles were added to improve fishing along the west shore...
