Maxine Coslet, 97, of Marshall, Mo., died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 2020, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Face masks are strongly encouraged, and social distancing will be observed. Memorials may be made to charity of the donor’s choice. Born Oct. 11, 1923, in Macks Creek, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Melvin Roscoe Meads and Cora Lee Varner Meads. On Dec. 25, 1941, she married Leroy Wesley Coslet, who preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 1984. Maxine and Leroy owned and operated 65 Drive-In for many years. She had been a member of the Foster Grandparent Program. She loved farming, raising animals, gardening and quilting.
Survivors include six grandchildren, Gary W. Coslet (Sarah) of Marshall, Jane Lee Perkins (Greg) of Sweet Springs, Mo., Kevin Browder (Carolyn) of Sweet Springs, Fawnda Tucker (Curtis) of St. Louis, Mo., Dana Billingsley (Greg) of Shackelford, Mo., and Eric Browder (Amber) of Malta Bend, Mo.; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Judy Coslet of Marshall; one sister, Virgie DeBrot of Bethany, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Maxine was preceded in death by one son, Gary L. Coslet; one daughter, Patricia O’Neal and husband John; two grandsons, Greg Browder and Christopher Browder; and 10 brothers and sisters.
