Walter F. ‘Wally’ Cox
Walter F. “Wally” Cox, 49, of Sedalia, Mo., formerly of Sweet Springs, Mo., died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, 2020, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Sweet Springs, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Masks are strongly encouraged, and social distancing will be observed. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Born Oct. 10, 1971, in Columbia, Mo., he was the son of the late Ernest J. Cox and Barbara Vaught Cox Day, who survives of Sunrise Beach, Mo. He was a 1990 graduate of Lake Charles High School in Louisiana and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He lived in Sweet Springs for many years and was a truck driver. He was a member of Grace Pointe Church in Grandview, Mo.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara; two daughters, Ashley Lancaster of North Carolina and Amelia Cox Whitehead of Idaho; four grandchildren, Aria Lancaster, River Lancaster, Stetson Lancaster and Remington Whitehead; two sisters, Karen Dieckhoff (Tim) of Oak Grove, Mo., and Linda Tilley of North Carolina; also nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his father, Wally was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Cox and Robert R. Cox; and stepfather, Loren E. Day.
