Highway patrol starts training on Marshall School District’s northern property Oct. 28

Tuesday, October 27, 2020

On Tuesday morning, Marshall Public Schools’ Superintendent Carol Maher announced that the Missouri State Highway Patrol will be using the city's portion of the school district's northern property (adjacent to the Spainhower Primary School, Tudor House, and HOOT House) for training. She noted the training will begin this Wednesday, Oct. 28.

“There will be patrol cars entering and leaving the property, but the officers will try to park as to not be visible to the public,” Maher said in an email. “The officer who called was very respectful and wanted to make sure the school and community were informed and ready for the drills that will be held there until mid-November.”

She added if anyone has any concerns to the scheduled drills to contact her.

“The patrol put a lot of thought into the plans and asked for input from the district before proceeding,” Maher explained.
