Mary Elizabeth Landreth
Mary Elizabeth Landreth, 97, of Marshall, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019, at Legendary Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Marshall.
At Mary’s request, no services will be held, and private family inurnment will take place in Urbana. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Saline Animal League, in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home, and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.
Born July 28, 1922, in Huntsdale, Mo., she was the daughter of the late William “Bill” Morgan and Katherine Shull Morgan. On Sept. 7, 1940, she married Earl Edward Landreth, who preceded her in death on April 12, 1992. Mary lived in Saline County most of her life and had worked at F.M. Stamper Company and then retired from Marshall Habilitation Center. Mary enjoyed the outdoors and could be found hunting rocks or fishing with her husband at Truman Lake, enjoying the flowers, mowing her yard, and even shoveling snow.
Survivors include two sons, James Robert “Bob” Landreth (Milly) and Michael Dean Landreth (Carlene), all of Marshall; a daughter-in-law, Doris Landreth of Marshall; eight grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren through the fifth generation; as well as nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, William “Billy Earl” Landreth; one great-great-granddaughter; and four brothers, Robert, William, James and Daryl Morgan.
