Dorothy Marie Geisler
Dorothy M. Solomon Geisler, 89, of Marshall, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall with Fr. Tom Alber officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church or Muscular Dystrophy Association in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Born April 17, 1930, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Carl Solomon and Frances Elizabeth Triebsch Solomon. Dorothy lived in Marshall most of her life and was a 1948 graduate of Mercy Academy. On Oct. 21, 1950, she married Mitchel F. Geisler, who preceded her in death on May 22, 2005. Dorothy was a homemaker for her family, a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella. As an active member of the community she was a member of The Monday Club, P.E.O. Chapter GM, and Red Hat Society.
Survivors include two children, Julie Geisler of Marshall and Jerald Geisler (Shirley) of Springfield; two granddaughters, Anna Marie Kossen (Brad) and Christen Geisler (Tim Vaughan); one great-granddaughter, Francis Kossen; one sister, Shirley Maurer (Jim) of Mission Viejo, Calif.; nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Charlie.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, John and James; three children in infancy; and four brothers.
