Cumberland to host annual Ice Cream and Music Fest
Free homemade ice cream and cake plus lots of local music talent are once again on the menu for the annual Cumberland Presbyterian Ice Cream and Music Fest, which is scheduled for Sunday, July 21, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.
The ice cream will be cranked up using Kenny Mizer tractor-driven ice cream freezer early in the day and, to paraphrase Henry Ford, “you can get it in any flavor, as long as it’s vanilla.” Toppings will be provided to allow patrons to add pizzazz to their ice cream. In addition, there will be a variety of cakes, brownies and cookies from which to choose.
The schedule for music includes: Gospel Harmony, 5:45-6 p.m.; Heidi Pollard, 6-6:10 p.m.; Payton Jones, 6:10-6:20 p.m.; The Aulgurs, 6:20-6:40 p.m.; Faith Sappington, 6:40-6:50 p.m.; Bailey Riley, 6:50-7 p.m.; Fred Kennedy, Debbie Kruger and Randy Shannon, 7-7:30 pm.
The entire event will be held in the air-conditioned fellowship hall at Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1000 S. Miami Ave., in Marshall. The basement is handicap-accessible. For information, call 660-886-2402.
