Wednesday crash on Highway 240 injures one
At approximately 10:25 a.m., Wednesday morning, June 5, a crash occurred approximately 3 miles east of Marshall on Highway 240.
A 1988 Freightliner Dump truck, driven by Blake S. Barth, 22, of Anderson Mo., was traveling westbound on Highway 240. A 2016 Toyota Tundra driven by Tracy L. Baker, 51, of Bradford, Il., traveling eastbound on Highway 240 crossed the center line of the highway and struck the rear driverís side of the eastbound dump truck.
After impact, the Freightliner overturned and traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a fence, and came to rest facing north. The Toyota then traveled off the left side of the highway and came to rest facing west.
Baker was assisted at the scene by Saline County emergency personnel and Missouri State Highway Patrol, and was transported by Air Evac to Centerpoint Hospital in Independence MO.
