Daughters of Isabella holds May 8 meeting

The Marshall Circle 535 Daughters of Isabella met on Wednesday, May 8, to prepare for the Rummage Sale scheduled Thursday and Friday, May 9-10. Members brought carry-in sides supper. Father Tom prayed the blessing, and Father Mark joined us.

Regent Dorothy Teeter called the meeting to order and gave the Pledge of Allegiance. Chancellor Helen Girard read the opening prayer.

The Spiritual Committee reported attendance at First Saturday Rosary at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 6. The Vocation Cross is with Tracy Anderson’s family.

Queen Isabella Day was well attended for Mass and the Breakfast.

Roll Call of Officers showed 10 present and two excused.

Father Mark discussed Easter week and upcoming events at St. Peter’s:

•Baccalaureate on Mother’s Day.

•Confirmation May 20 with Bishop Shawn McKnight officiating.

•Tickets for the Parish trip to the Royals Baseball game are still available for $20, and the bus costs $25.

Bills were presented for our new Rummage Sale sign and advertising.

Minutes from the April 10 meeting were read and approved.

An application from Barb Chevelier was approved.

The Scribe submitted minutes and will be published.

The quarterly audit was held at Millie Moore’s home. Delores Sadewhite read the report.

Welfare regarding the Rummage Sale

Visitation of the Sick: Dorothy sent a card to Marideen Farrell.

Membership: Potential new members will be asked.

Social: Discussed a July social and will submit for the June meeting.

Respect for Life: Follow up discussion of the latest news.

Baptism gifts OK for now.

Maureen made a motion to give to D of I Tech Fund. There was a second made by Linda McDaniel. Motion carried.

Good of the Order

June 1 will be the First Saturday Rosary.

Bills presented were paid – all in the budget.

The next meeting will be June 12 at Knights of Columbus Hall. The social will be at 6:30.

Helen Girard read the Spiritual Reflection, the 5th Joyful Mystery, including one decade of the Rosary, and the closing prayer.
