Letter to the Editor: county roads

Monday, April 8, 2019

Dear Editor,

I live in Saline County. A month ago I went to the courthouse to the Road Commissionerís Office to complain about our road.

They graded it on Monday, the 20th of March. My husband was told we would have gravel on the road and hill. It has been two weeks and still no gravel. A week later, I went back over there to find out from the road commissioner why it wasnít done. Now we are told that other roads take precedence over ours. There are culverts starting to was out, side ditches full of rock or gravel, and the bottom has dropped out of the road in spots.

I went to them again today, April 4, 2019, and told the road commission that I almost went off the road. Someone is going to get hurt or killed because they wonít do anything.

Maybe we need new commissioners that want to do their jobs right. I know itís been a bad winter on the roads, but its terrible when you are told one thing and they do something else, or told one road is more important.
