Leonard John Hinck
Leonard John Hinck, 93, of Concordia, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, at Sweet Springs Villa in Sweet Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Emma, with Pastor Jacob Mueller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kyle Harms, Shawn Hinck, Joel Harms, Kimberly Hinck, James Storck and Markus Reinke. A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Born Dec. 21, 1924, in rural Concordia, he was the son of Otto Hinck and Dora Weber Hinck. On Nov. 6, 1946, he married Edna Brinkman at Grace Lutheran Church in Kansas City, Kan. Leonard lived his entire life in the Concordia area, where he was a farmer and enjoyed refurbishing and repairing two cylinder John Deere tractors. Leonard was a lifelong member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Emma, a member of Holy Cross Menís Club, and served the Lord as a church trustee.
Survivors include sons, Darel Hinck of Marshall, and Keith Hinck and wife Brenda of Independence; daughter, Debra Harms and husband James of Columbia; grandchildren, Kyle and Joel Harms, and Shawn and Kimberly Hinck; as well as nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna; two brothers, Ralph and Earl Hinck; and two sisters, Elsie May Hinck and Lorna Oetting.
