Blackburn man facing multiple sex-related felonies involving minor
A $100,000 cash only bond has been set for a Blackburn man charged with multiple sex-related felonies involving a minor.
According to a probable cause statement, on Saturday, July 28, a woman allegedly called the Saline County Sheriff’s Department to report that Christopher Michael Moore II, 24, had sexually assaulted her daughter on several occasions between June 30 and July 22 at Moore’s residence in rural Saline County. Officers have reviewed several Facebook interactions between the victim and Moore.
According to the statement filed on July 24, officers made numerous attempts to locate and interview Moore, who reportedly absconded from his supervision with probation and parole, and had not been seen or heard from since July 28.
According to unofficial online court documents, a warrant was issued for Moore’s arrest on Aug. 24. He is being charged with two class D felony charges for statutory rape in the second degree, an unclassified felony for enticement of a child (actor 21 years of age or older and child less than 15 years of age) and a class D felony for statutory sodomy.
Online court documents indicate an arraignment was held Monday, Aug. 27, where Moore appeared in custody, by video, and was advised of charges, range of punishment, and his rights. A counsel status hearing has been scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 5.
