3 injured in rural Saline Co. crash

Three people were injured in a rural Saline County crash Tuesday, July 10, when two vehicles collided at an intersection.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a Ford F250 driven by Christopher Stockman, 46, of Slater struck a Freightliner tractor-trailer at the intersection of County Road 260th and Thompson Lane. Both vehicles reportedly traveled off the left side of the road and struck the ground. The Freightliner driven by Michael Deibel, 67, of Marshall came to rest in a field. The Ford continued sliding out of control before coming to rest in the field, the report said.

Stockman and his occupant 20-year-old John Stockman, of Slater were both transported by air ambulance to a Columbia hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. They were reportedly not wearing safety devices. Deibel sustained minor injuries and went to a hospital by private vehicle. He was reportedly wearing a safety device.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:35 p.m.
