3 injured in rural Saline Co. crash
Three people were injured in a rural Saline County crash Tuesday, July 10, when two vehicles collided at an intersection.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a Ford F250 — driven by Christopher Stockman, 46, of Slater — struck a Freightliner tractor-trailer at the intersection of County Road 260th and Thompson Lane. Both vehicles reportedly traveled off the left side of the road and struck the ground. The Freightliner — driven by Michael Deibel, 67, of Marshall — came to rest in a field. The Ford continued sliding out of control before coming to rest in the field, the report said.
Stockman and his occupant — 20-year-old John Stockman, of Slater — were both transported by air ambulance to a Columbia hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. They were reportedly not wearing safety devices. Deibel sustained minor injuries and went to a hospital by private vehicle. He was reportedly wearing a safety device.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:35 p.m.
