Truth of love: Forever

Friday, June 8, 2018

We have all heard love songs and experienced different types of love, be it from comrades in arms, family, friends, community, fellowships or romantic love. If one has all those kinds of love it would still not be enough, for vital true love is God, our creator. The Lord God waits for us to willingly have a reciprocal love relationship. The creator made provisions for us by sacrificing his only begotten son, Yeshua/Jesus and sent the Holy Spirit so we would never be alone. His love surpasses all earthly love.

Todayís world uses the word love lightly. Many use love manipulatively, still others think they love but it is based in self-centeredness. Real love is based on the spiritual reality of Godís love. Walking in the true eternal love of the Lord matures us spiritually, enabling us to share authentic love with others.

1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

Without the Lordís love, there is a discomfort deep within oneís soul, something not quite right in oneís world. For some, it is a sensing of a void or confusion of why, the lacking of contentment. Many attempt to fill the void by searching for love through others, the busyness of events, the accumulation of things, geographical cures, or constant quest for new ideas/philosophies that are anti Messiah/Christ. Others wonder if this is all there is to life?

Meditating on Godís love we can mature through prayer, worship and scripture study. There is a life of rejoicing within oneís very soul when embracing the love of God. It is not merely received through belief in the Messiah/the Christ, for even the demons believe and tremble. It is in the knowing, the blessed assurance of the fulfillment of the promises of God. Understanding Godís love nature even to the learning (1 Corinthians 13:4-7) of how to love others by knowing what love is and what it is not.

Love is more than a feeling. Love received creates within us a desire, the decision, to be obedient disciplined followers of the Lord, walking under the divine guidance of the Lord and loving others because we know how much he loves us. This inward rejoicing of knowing who we are in the Lord culminates in willing obedience.

Love is powerful. Yeshua/Jesus proved that because he who was sinless became, took, sin for us. Yeshua/Jesus obeyed the Father. There is no greater love then a friend lay down his life for another. A greater love we cannot know than the love of God. Obedience in love results from knowing God is love and that love will never fail. We are given the gift of eternal love.

Things may happen that we donít understand. Yet, if we hone into his love, we will walk through, knowing all will be well by trusting him, for love is God, who never leaves us nor forsakes us. Walking in obedience to our creator not out of fear, but because we love in return blesses us with a peace and creates within a desire to be more like Messiah/the Christ.

Let us rejoice in the God love that draws others to him because we have met love here, now, and know it is love forever.

Blessings and Shalom
