MU scientist to speak on climate change
Dr. Anthony Lupo, professor of atmospheric sciences at the University of Missouri- Columbia, will be in Marshall Thursday, May 17 to speak on climate change.
He will speak at 7 p.m. at the Wood and Huston Bank Community Room on the north side of the square. His talk will be preceded by fellowship and snacks at 6:30 p.m. The presentation is free and open to the public.
Professor Lupo is an active researcher in the areas of climate change, and climate and atmospheric dynamics, and is a certified consulting meteorologist. He will present the latest thinking regarding climate change issues. He is an excellent teacher as recognized by the Kemper Foundation Excellence in Teaching Award, and as University of Missouri professor of the year in 2010. He studied atmospheric blocking at the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow in 2004 under a Fulbright Scholarship.
