Receipts: 461 Week Ago: 1325 Year Ago: 461

Compared to last week, few comparisons could be made as the type and kind was very different from last week’s bigger drafts of yearlings. A good portion of the offering was un-weaned fall born calves and several consignments hadn’t made it through a chute yet. However the overall direction of the market lately has clearly been lower as nearby live and feeder cattle contracts have seen substantial losses as there is a concern that too much beef is going to enter the market shortly. Supply and demand were light to moderate. The feeder offering included 59 percent steers and bulls and 41 percent heifers with 34 percent over 600 lbs. Cows and bulls totaled 18 percent of the offering.
