Marshall Circle 535 Daughters of Isabella hold March meeting
Marshall Circle No. 535 Daughters of Isabella held its regular meeting on Wednesday, March 14.
Regent Dorothy Teeter called the meeting to order. Opening prayer was read by Chancellor Helen Girard.
Roll call of officers showed nine present, one excused and one absent.
February minutes were read by Judy Mark and approved as read. Tracy Anderson gave the treasurer’s report. The scribe reported that the meeting had been printed in the local paper.
The quarterly report was read by Delores Sadewhite.
A discussion was held that April 15 would be the date to celebrate Queen Isabella Day, with mass at 7:30 a.m. followed by breakfast at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
The respect life report was given by Mark regarding abortion.
Maureen Burks reported the theme for the state meeting was “Long and Winding Road.”
A discussion was held that the circle received a check from the Knights of Columbus for helping with the shrimp supper, and Virginia Sprigg will send a thank you note.
It was noted that the Marshall Circle of the Daughters of Isabella was chartered on March 15, 1931, with 60 members.
Closing prayer was read by Girard, and the meeting was adjourned.
