Receipts: 1159 Week Ago: 1160 Year Ago: 1211

Compared to last week, steers and heifers traded 2.00-10.00 higher with spots up to 15.00 higher on 550-600 lb heifers. High quality cattle came through the ring all day and demand was very good on an active market. Fed cattle traded higher last week, corn is cheap and demand for beef is good, all positives that are pushing the calf market higher. Supply was heavy. The feeder offering included 63 percent steers and bulls and 37 percent heifers with 75 percent over 600 lbs. Cows and bulls totaled 9 percent of the offering. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady, bulls sold with a higher undertone.
