Compared to last week, steers and heifers traded steady to 5.00 lower. The majority of the cattle sold as singles or in small groups, however there were several quality consignments of weaned calves with a health program. Despite Friday’s sharply lower future’s market demand was good as buyers still feel comfortable with the current price levels. A cold front is expected to move through the region Monday and bring much more seasonal temperatures to the area. The feeder offering was made up of near 41 percent steers and bulls, 59 percent heifers with 42 percent over 600 lbs. Cows and bulls totaled 14 percent of the offering. Slaughter cows and bulls sold 3.00-5.00 lower.
