Receipts: 850 Week Ago: 392 Year Ago: 718

Compared to last week, based on light comparisons steers traded with a steady to higher undertone while heifers sold mostly steady. Cattle futures have regained some ground the last few trading sessions after a few weeks on a downward trend. The recent gains have given buyers some confidence again to be more active about purchasing cattle. Demand was moderate to good with a moderate to heavy supply with several consignments of quality, weaned cattle. The feeder offering was made up of near 57 percent steers and bulls, 43 percent heifers with 39 percent over 600 lbs. Cows and bulls totaled 10 percent of the offering. Slaughter cows sold 2.00-4.00 higher, slaughter bulls steady.
