Compared to last week, based on light comparisons steers and heifers traded with a steady to weak undertone. Supply was light for the holiday week sale with moderate demand. Cattle futures continued on a downward slide Monday with most feeder cattle contracts closing near 2.00 lower. The feeder offering was made up of near 48 percent steers and bulls, 52 percent heifers with 37 percent over 600 lbs. Cows and bulls totaled 37 percent of the offering. Slaughter cows sold steady to 2.00 lower.

Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1 pkg 393 lbs 201.00; 500-600 lbs 162.00-176.00, pkg 550 lbs fleshy 157.00; 600-700 lbs 146.00-160.00. Medium and Large 1-2 pkg 593 lbs 149.00; pkg 730 lbs 142.00.

Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1 350-400 lbs 162.00-166.00; 400-500 lbs 148.00-155.00; 500-550 lbs 147.00-150.00; 600-700 lbs 136.00-137.00; pkg 795 lbs 132.00. Medium and Large 1-2 500-600 lbs 137.50-144.00; pkg 913 lbs 105.00.

Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large 1 pkg 400 lbs 201.00; pkg 660 lbs 126.50; pkg 728 lbs 125.50. Medium and Large 1-2 pkg 648 lbs 128.50.

Bred Cows: Medium and Large 1-2 4-7 yrs. 1185-1500 lbs 2nd-3rd period 950.00-1350.00 per head, short and solid–broken mouth 1150-1292 lbs 2nd-3rd period 850.00-950.00 per head.

Cow-Calf Pairs: Medium and Large 1-2 3 yrs.-short and solid 1150-1285 lbs with 200-325 lb calves and a few bred back in the 1st period 1325.00-1750.00 per head.

Feeder/Stocker Cows: Medium and Large 1-2 2-5 yrs. 945-1420 lbs 57.00-93.00.
