Rosa Lee Borchers
Rosa Lee Borchers, 82, of Marshall, formerly of Sedalia and Blackburn, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Blackburn, with Pastor Andy Mockridge officiating. An Order of the Eastern Star service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 2017, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with visitation following until 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in Blackburn Cemetery. Born May 29, 1935, in Cross Timbers, Rosa Lee was the daughter of the late John Arland Wright and Leona Ussery Wright. On Feb. 11, 1951, in Blackburn, she married Henry T. “Buddy” Borchers, who preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 1999. She lived in Marshall the last two years, moving from Sedalia, previously living in Blackburn. She was owner/operator of Kut and Kurl Beauty Shop in Blackburn. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ and Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as the grand organist.
Survivors include two sons, Tom Borchers and wife Mary of Warsaw, and David Borchers and wife Diane of Blackburn; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, John David Wright of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Rosa Lee was preceded in death by one son, Terry Borchers; one daughter, Regina Morris; one grandson, John Marshall Borchers; three brothers, Raymond, Orval and Aubrey Wright; and one sister, Viola Dancer.
