Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 11/13/2017

Compared to last week, a light test of 3 weight steer calves sold with a
lower undertone, 400-500 lb steer calves sold mostly steady to 5.00 lower, spots
7.00 lower, a light test of good quality 500-550 lb steers sold near steady,
with 550-800 lb steers trading mostly 3.00-6.00 lower with the exception of 650-
700 lb selling steady to firm, over 800 lbs not well tested with last week's
market. Feeder heifers weighing 400-450 lbs sold steady, with 450-500 lb
heifers selling 3.00-8.00 lower, 550-600 lb heifers sold steady with 600-700 lbs
not well tested with last week's pot load lots and a pot load of 705 lb heifers
selling steady on a light test. Good quality calves throughout the sale, still
plenty of calves not weaned or preconditioned; buyers approaching these calves
with more caution. The overall quality on yearling steers not as attractive as
last week with many carrying more flesh than last week. Demand was moderate to
good with supply moderate. Slaughter cows accounted for near 12 percent of the
total receipts. Feeder cattle consisted of 67 percent steers, 33 percent
heifers and 60 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
