Maxine Thomas, 91, of Marshall, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, 2017, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Dr. Mike Parris and the Rev. Wayne Doolin officiating. Visitation was held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017, at the funeral home. Burial was in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church. Born Jan. 11, 1926, in Osage County, Maxine was the daughter of the late Martin M. Stone and Valda Fern Burgess Stone. She lived in Saline County most of her life and attended Marshall High School. On Sept. 4, 1942, she married John L. Thomas, who survives of the home. She worked at Marshall Habilitation Center, and Fitzgibbon Hospital as a ward clerk. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, John, Maxine is survived by two daughters, Sandra Allen and husband Gary of Sedalia, and Beverly Thomas of rural Marshall; three grandchildren, Jeff Allen and wife Lynda, Angela Cornelius and husband Josh, and Jesus Santiago and wife Michelle; one great-granddaughter, Emery Santiago; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death one grandson, Gregory Allen; one brother, C. Robert Stone; and one nephew, Danny Stone.
