Receipts: 1014 Week Ago: 370 Year Ago: 1291

Compared to last week’s run of mostly calves, this week the majority of the offering was bigger drafts of yearlings. There were very few true comparisons to last week, however steers and heifers sold with a higher undertone except heifer calves trading steady. A quality run of cattle was on offer. Feeder Cattle futures opened sharply higher but calmed down later in the day to close up on either side of a dollar. Demand was good with a heavy supply. The feeder offering was made up of near 74 percent steers and bulls, 26 percent heifers with 87 percent over 600 lbs. Cows and bulls totaled 14 percent of the offering. Slaughter cows sold 1.00-2.00 lower.
