Receipts: 576 Week Ago: 1152 Year Ago: 341

Compared to last week, a few comparable sales of steers sold 2.00-10.00 lower with the most decline on 700-800 lbs and heifers sold mostly steady. Fleshy un-weaned calves and bulls saw greater discounts this week than compared to the last couple weeks which is typical as we head deeper into fall with a cool down on the way. Cattle futures suffered limit down losses on Monday following a bearish Cattle on Feed report that showed placements higher than expected. Demand was moderate with a moderate supply. The feeder offering was made up of near 47 percent steers and bulls, 53 percent heifers with 53 percent over 600 lbs. Cows and bulls totaled 11 percent of the offering. Slaughter cows sold steady to 2.00 lower.
