Letter to the editor
Minutes of city council meetings are publicized online. That is good. Council members should improve their reporting by having, for each vote taken on each measure, their names and how they voted (yes or no) publicized so that city voters may hold each one accountable. If this is not done, we city voters are left uninformed and in the dark, which is not good. Vote Smart, a non-partisan voter information organization, works to publicize all votes in Congress by name. We need to have the same news regularly from our city council members and to thank them after they begin doing it.
