Cattle Auction Report for 8/8/17

   No recently reported sales for a comparison.  Demand was good with
feeder steers and heifers trading with a higher undertone when looking
back to the last tested market from a month ago.  Cattle futures have
struggled lately, but prices on feeders through the auction barns have
held up strong.  Supply was light to moderate.  The feeder offering
consisted of 58 percent steers and bulls 42 percent heifers and
84 percent of the feeders were over 600 lbs. Cows and bulls consisted
of 15 percent of the total offering.

   Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1  Few 500-600 lbs 166.50-170.50;
600-700 lbs 158.00-168.00, Fleshy 675 lbs 153.00; 700-750 lbs
155.75-160.60.  Medium and Large 1-2  550-600 lbs 164.50-166.00;
600-700 lbs 155.50-162.00; 700-800 lbs 145.00-156.75.
