Vehicle skips fence, travels through field Saturday
At approximately 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 22, a Sweet Springs driver was injured when the 2000 Ford Ranger he was driving crashed in Pettis County.
A Missouri State Highway Patrol report stated the crash occurred as the Ranger — driven by Braden T. Butts, 18, of Sweet Springs — was traveling on state Highway 127 when it ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected and went off the left side of the road. The vehicle reportedly vaulted a barbed wire fence, went a short distance through a field and struck a fence before driving through a bean field, striking the same fence and then backing over it.
Butts was reported wearing a safety device and sustained minor injuries. He was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment.
