Marshall woman charged with failure to register as sex offender

Monday, June 26, 2017

Claudie Yvonne Dertinger, 33, of Marshall, has been charged with a class C felony of failure to register as a sex offender, after allegedly moving from the state in August 2016 and not registering her new address in the state of Pennsylvania.

The charge was filed Friday, June 23, after an investigation in November reportedly found that Dertinger had moved to Leola, Pa., to live with her father. Contact with law enforcement in that area allegedly found that she had not registered as a sex offender there, nor had she informed the Saline County Sheriff's Department of her change in address.

Four additional felony charges for allegedly violating the sex offender registration were brought against Dertinger in December 2016. She is scheduled to be arraigned on those charges at the Saline County Division IV Courtroom Friday morning, June 30, at 9 a.m.

Editor's note: Charges contained in reports provided by law enforcement officials are not evidence of guilt. Evidence supporting charges must be presented before a jury, whose duty is to determine if the accused is guilty or not guilty of the charges.
