During the first regular session of the 99th General Assembly, the Legislature passed Senate Bills 376 and 395, one of which honors Jim the Wonder Dog.

Senate Bill 376 designates Old Drum as Missouriís Historical Dog and Jim the Wonder Dog as Missouriís Wonder Dog. Senate Bill 395 establishes guidelines for Missouriís accounting profession, including lowering the age needed to become a licensed accountant and enhancing firm mobility for certified public accountants.

Governor Eric Greitens will sign both bills at the statue of Old Drum at the Johnson County Courthouse in Warrensburg on Friday, June 23, at 6 p.m. State Senator Denny Hoskins, Representative Dan Houx, and Representative Dean Dohrman will also attend. Along with the governor, Hoskins will speak about the importance of these bills.

Marshall residents are encouraged to attend the event, and the Old Drum statue is located on the southeast corner of the Johnson County Courthouse square, at the corner of Hout and North Holden streets, in Warrensburg.
