Cattle Auction Report for May 15, 2017:

Receipts: 603 Week Ago: 1043 Year Ago: 943

Compared to last week, steers sold with a weak undertone and heifer calves sold mostly steady. Volatility on future contracts and the lower cash market for fed cattle has caused buyers to be more conservative with their purchases. Demand was moderate with a light to moderate supply. The feeder offering was made up of near 51 percent steers and bulls, 49 percent heifers with 20 percent over 600 lbs. Cows and bulls totaled 16 percent of the offering. Slaughter cows

sold steady to 2.00 higher.
