County commissioners approve use of courthouse lawn for band concerts

Thursday, May 11, 2017

Little business was conducted during the Saline County Commission’s regular meeting Thursday morning, May 11.

Commissioners approved the city of Marshall’s use of the courthouse lawn to host Marshall Municipal Band concerts. Concerts will be held each Thursday evening at 7 p.m. from June 1 through Aug. 11. Use of the courthouse lawn also includes the use of the courthouse’s restroom facilities.

Also approved during the meeting was a letter of destruction from the Saline County Sheriff’s Department. According to Southern Commissioner Monte Fenner, the letter included the destruction of an old cooling system that is no longer being used, and is located west of the justice facility.

A payment schedule was then pre-approved for Auditor Tara Vogelsmeier.
