Marshall Circle No. 535 Daughters of Isabella hold February meeting
Marshall Circle No. 535 Daughters of Isabella met Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Marshall.
Regent Maureen Burks opened the meeting. Chancellor Virginia Sprigg led the prayers. The pledge to the flag was given.
Roll call of officers showed 11 present and two excused.
Helen Girard of the Spiritual Committee read about the Miraculous Medal and St. Catherine Labourne, as well as St. Benedict, founder of the Benedictine Order.
Marge Elsea read the minutes of the January meeting and they were approved as written. The treasurer's report was given. January scribe notes were published in the local newspaper.
Communications were read from International Regent Diane Corriveau, announcing 2018 International Convention in Quebec City, as well as committees' duties and responsibilities. A thank you note was received from Deacon Richard Luebbering.
Delores Sadewhite gave the quarterly audit report for November, December and January. The Circle will have a shrimp dinner March 3. The telephone committee will call for pies and workers. Several members signed up at the meeting to work at the dinner.
Burks read material from International regarding protocol.
Dorothy Teeter asked for cookies for Altar-Rosary Society to serve at confirmation. Several members signed up to furnish two dozen cookies.
Cookies and ice cream were served by Helen Girard and Mary Hoecker.
